Now in its 20th year, Beckman Highschool is a three-time California Distinguished School, a two-time California Exemplary Arts Program, a California Gold Ribbon School, a U.S. News & World Report Gold High School, and was named in Newsweek's Top 500 High Schools in the United States, one of only 12 Orange Country Schools so named.
In 2008, and later in 2014, the Patriot Marching Band and Colorguard earned invitations to perform at the National Cherry Blossom Festival Parade in Washington D.C., and also performing at the World War II, Naval, and Jefferson Memorials. On New Year's Eve of 2009, the Band Appeared on MTV's "A Miley Sized Surprise" which aired internationally.
In 2010, the band became the first Orange County band to appear in the Kingdom Day Parade in Los Angeles; appearing on ABC and Sweepstakes.
In 2014, the band filmed "The Little Button Girl" with Hollywood legend Dick Van Dyke. Beckman High School was also recognized as a 2016 GRAMMY Signature School Semi-Finalist.
More Recently, at the 2022 and the 2023 Arcadia Festival of Bands, the Marching Band and Colorguard received a $1,000 grant each year from the John Philip Sousa Foundation.
